The Center / Legal and Advocacy Program
The legal outreach program of The Center, the Legal and Advocacy Program, has worked to advance LGBT rights in Colorado by lobbying the legislature for laws that protect and enhance the lives of LGBT Coloradans. A resource for GLBT legal assistance questions. Community members in need of legal services can contact The Center’s 24/7 Legal Helpline to obtain direct referrals from attorneys knowledgeable of and sensitive to LGBT legal issues.

Transgender Law Center
A non-profit organization dedicated to effective advocacy for transgender people in our society, the TLPI brings experts and advocates together to work on law and policy initiatives to advance transgender equality. Located in San Francisco, they work nationally.

LGBT Equality Maps
Equality Maps provide quick and easy summaries of laws that affect LGBT Americans on a state-by-state and issue-by-issue basis. The Maps present information on laws from employment discrimination and relationship recognition to hate crimes protections and anti-bullying laws.

Lambda Legal
A national organization committed to achieving full recognition of the rights of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender people, and those with HIV through impact litigation, education, and public policy work. Lambda Legal wins legal victories for clients who seek equality on the job, protection for their parenting or relationship rights, equal access to healthcare, or protection against discrimination because of HIV status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. They also represent clients in cases involving immigration, military service, the rights of students in school, and the rights of LGBTQ youth in out-of-home care. 

Sylvia Rivera Law Project
The Sylvia Rivera Law Project guarantees that all people are free to self-determine their gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, without facing harassment, discrimination, or violence. SRLP is a collective organization founded on the understanding that gender self-determination is inextricably intertwined with racial, social, and economic justice. They seek to increase the political voice and visibility of low-income people and people of color who are transgender, intersex, or gender non-conforming.

ACLU LGBT Project
The ACLU LGBT Project works for an America free of discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. They work for an America where LGBT people can live openly, where our identities, relationships, and families are respected, and where there is fair treatment on the job, in schools, housing, public places, healthcare, and government programs.

National Center for Transgender Equality
A social justice organization dedicated to advancing the equality of transgender people through advocacy, collaboration, and empowerment.

Modern Military Association of America
MMAA is for active duty, guard, reserve, veterans, and families with a vibrant local Colorado-Wyoming chapter. They provide free legal counseling to service members with legal issues stemming from discrimination based on one’s perceived or actual sexual orientation or gender presentation, the regulations governing military service by HIV+ people, the regulations addressing military service by transgender persons, and helps veterans seeking to upgrade or correct their discharge paperwork.
